Rafael Vartian
Head of Business Development DACH
As is the case for many young people, my graduation from university marked the beginning of my career. At that time I was unsure about what kind of venture to embark next, let alone which department. When I applied at Medicus, I was offered the unique opportunity to see everything through the eyes of a CEO, learn by his side and take ownership of vital projects he entrusted me with despite my young age. In retrospect, this was probably the fastest accelerator for my professional development that I could have asked for. Though this job is hard work and does not come without its sacrifices, it is the most amazing opportunity for inexperienced, smart, and hungry young people who want to have a significant impact in their job while also leaving a real mark in a world as essential to our society as health.
Jules Caput
Junior Business Development & Account Manager
I joined Medicus April 2019, so it's now been 7 months since the adventure started. I wanted to join a fast-growing start-up in the health sector for a long time, which was the main driving force behind my decision to apply for the proposed internship offer in business development. The integration into Medicus was very fast and natural. I was quickly able to meet via video conference the people who would work with me on a day-to-day basis. I had never done Business Development assignments before, but thanks to the advice and feedback from the various teams, I was able to improve efficiently and quickly in my daily tasks. The many customer meetings shaped my learning at Medicus, and the Viva Technology show was the last real test of my integration at Medicus, with many pitches to be made according to the profile of the people with whom I was talking. I think the word that best suits my first months at Medicus is "adaptability". You must be able to be reactive, react quickly in the event of a problem or emergency, while always keeping control of the situation. I am now a full-time Business Developer & Account Manager, and I look forward to new challenges and adventures at Medicus AI.
Faisal Dakkak
Senior Financial Analyst
I joined Medicus in September 2019 as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR), a role that involves a variety of different responsibilities that support the growth and running of a fast-growing tech company. One of the best parts of this role is that you get to work directly with the CEO, Dr. Baher, on a variety of topics including fundraising, sales, and other initiatives, which was invaluable for me and provided fascinating insights on the inner workings of the company. I spent five months as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence, and I loved it. Towards the end of this time period, it was clear to me Baher and Verena ” Head of Operations” that I was excelling in the areas of financial modeling and analysis, which didn’t come as a big surprise to me given my past experience working for a “Big 4" financial services firm. My transition to a senior financial analyst was a natural one, and with the experience, I gained in my EIR role, I now feel more confident in my work with different business divisions and in the fast-paced environment of a growing and evolving technology company.
Program FAQs
How should I prepare for my interview?
Get smart. Do your homework on Medicus: our culture, products, achievements, goals, and contributions. The more you know, the better-placed you will be to accurately describe why you want to work with us, and to find out for yourself why this job is tailor-made for you.
We’ll tell you who you’ll be speaking with. It’s your job to find out who they are, what they do, and the role they play in the company. Then, it’s time to look in the mirror. If you can assess your strengths and weaknesses before the interview starts, it will help you tell us what you can bring to the table already, and where we can help you grow. We aren’t expecting a finished product: it’s more about demonstrating how your professional path is aligned with the company’s goals, and how you will contribute to its growth
Knowing what is expected of you in the future role is important: your ability to see the future clearly will give us an idea of how you prepare yourself for the challenges ahead. The interview is a chance to be curious about the company, your potential role, and everything else too. We love it when our candidates ask us questions.
